The Water & Health Advisory Council continues to grow and evolve, and we’re excited to share several important updates about our membership and leadership.
Leadership Transitions
After years of dedicated service, Rob Renner will be stepping down as Chair of the Council. Rob has played a foundational role in shaping the Council, and we are deeply grateful for his thoughtful leadership, collaborative spirit, and enduring commitment to public health. Stepping into the role of Chair is Kathryn Sorensen, whose deep expertise in water utility leadership, infrastructure expertise and water policy and she will guide the Council into its next chapter. We are excited to have Kathryn in this leadership position and look forward to her continued contributions and vision for the Council.
Welcoming New Expertise
The Council is also honored to welcome Alan Roberson as the newest member. Roberson is the former Executive Director of the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA) and brings more than three decades of experience in drinking water policy and regulation. Prior to starting at ASDWA, he worked in the American Water Works Association (AWWA), where he authored or co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed papers, authored or co-authored a handful of book chapters, wrote numerous columns and Feature Articles for Journal AWWA, and made numerous presentations on a wide range of water quality and regulatory issues across the country.
Introducing the Emeritus Board
To honor and stay connected with long-time contributors, the Council has created a new Emeritus Board position. This honorary role is designed for members who are stepping back from active participation but remain important voices in our community and valued friends of the Council. We’re pleased to share that Rob Renner and Joyce Dinglasan-Panlilio will be joining this board.
